Not so long ago, I remember going out with my G7X into this really dimly-lit restaurant in town and wanted to show off the mood and food on the plate. While in New York City, I had the chance to really put the video capabilities of the G7X to the test. The five-axis image stabilization made sure every step taken on that boggy ground during movement stayed smooth in the footage. The focusing is also up to the mark, always impressive to keep clear sharpness, even as the subjects move around the frame.

The G7X also has a stereo microphone built into the inside—not great compared to an external one, but considering the size of this camera, it’s pretty good. 7. Battery Life: Basic Enough to Last the Whole Day of Basic Shooting

I’ve zeroed an a shot—a long exposure at an extremely low sensitivity—considering shooting conditions. Battery life would never be a problem for any camera, and performance is something that people don’t turn into a problem for the Canon G7X. The company claims one can extract about 265 shots from a full charge to battery exhaustion, which isn’t such a bad deal. Well, it’s not surprising either, as some DSLRs quote that figure.

I managed a whole weekend on the shoot with my G7X, and the battery didn’t let me down. Of course, with such a camera, if you will be doing a fair amount of video shooting, you will take along a spare pair.
